Try and Try Again

Tester locks for Miss K.
Lemon Drop

Powder Blue

I know I said I was giving up doing Sisterlocks. After having a unlisted number on the site, sending my clients to Miko, and slowly giving out my new number, I'm doing Sisterlocks again. Why? Because more people are wanting them, Miko will only be doing a very limited number of clients, and that leaves only me for right now.

Today I went to Charlotte for a meet-up and even though I sold not one item, I felt leaving like I was on top of the world.

Carrying on with that feeling, I finally got the courage from the ladies there to list Powder Blue and Lemon Drop. Having my newer laptop back also makes it less time consuming to load everything. These sets will not be on tomokastwists.com but on Artfire. I'm stepping way out the box on these by trying a set without hair accessories. I'm also trying out the value of Twitter. After tweeting about the sets, within minutes I was asked to reserve one. How cool is that?

Time Out

I went to Raleigh past weekend and left the earrings. I think my forgetfulness boils down to I really don't like selling in person. I think I've talked about this before. I don't have a sells pitch other than showing somebody how to put it on. It's not like a $1000 vacuum cleaner with all sorts of attachments and filters. I was very disappointed myself.

I did get a book Wild Seed by Octavia Butler. I read the first 177 pages after I got home. The next night I completed the book. I found the writing style pretty much like everyone else but the story line was a bit freaky being that the protagonist could change shape, never died, healed people, and could sleep with all the men she could want.

My shop was closed for two days. It was nice not to wonder if I had an order. It's nice to know that the blue flashing star on my phone is nothing urgent. Then I opened it back up in the wee hours of Monday morning while most were sleeping. Within a few hours, a Half Baked Set and another item were sold.

I stopped playing all the games on Facebook. I was becoming a Fashion Wars, Sorority Life, Vampire Wars bully. I have been put on the hit list in FW so many times and I had only reached level 15 I think. I was beginning to get a little too involved. I was checking up on my posse and clan to see if they were up to par with what I had. When they had less, I was agitated because you are only as good as the members on your team. As you see, I had to quit.

Tuesday, I didn't even get on the computer. I played Sudoku all night at work instead of hopping around from ning.com groups to blogs.

And then I realized I hadn't posted to my own blog in a while. I will take some pictures of my hair. My locks turned a year old at the end of February.

Thank You Raleigh Ladies - I Got Tagged

I have to give a BIG UP to the ladies of Raleigh's Meetup.com group. Thank you Natasha for organizing the meetup. I really appreciate the support. Next time I will be prepared! I'm looking right now for pink and 'R's and 'O's. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

This is my second time getting tagged. Lakia tagged me. I am to tell six things to tell about myself.
1. I'm shy believe it or not.

2. I like slim men. I think I might have said this in the last one. My newest men are K. C. Collins and Delroy Lindo. Delroy is not slim, but he sure is sexy. And I also like Lou Rawls. Hush right.

3. Sometimes when Ciara darts out of the house. I secretly wish that she finds a nice family with children and a great big yard. Then when she's gone too long, I start getting nervous and pray she hasn't gotten hit or ran away. And just like clockwork she comes trotting up from the right side of the neighborhood, up the sidewalk, and comes on into the house.

4. I do not like purple. I swear when I had to search for the purple, I was mad. After I got the beads I did admire them alot. But would have passed out if they were blue.

5. I like Led Zeppelin (Kasmir and Fool in the Rain), Fleetwood Mack (You Make Loving Fun), Aerosmith all songs just about, Steely Dan's (Peg), and the just about anything from the Doobie Brothers, Rolling Stones, and Hall & Oates. I wanted to put Rich Girl in the mix, but they do cuzz a little and I hear this song on the radio often. I wanted to put Black Water but then there's that 'play that dixieland' at the end. I like that song. My favorite music is rap though.

6. I think I covet my things. Or I'm very careful with them. I just spent about an hour trying to find my Slip and Slide scissors. I've had them since maybe 2000. They are yarn scissors and they fold into the cutest little thing. I can't find it anywhere. They have become my Sisterlock scissors. They fit into the little box that I keep my SL tools in and I'll be dayumed if I can't find them. I'm like this with my underware too. Omg if I can't find the drawls to my bra I'll have a fit. I mourn stuff like this. It's just stuff. Stuff!!!
