Banding

I've been advised to band several different ways. Twist and band. Braid loosely and then twist the ends and band. Don't braid and band - use a stocking cap. Then I thought about how I would band my ponytail like the maintenance men and truckers at work. I have six sections. Hopefully this will work successfully.

Hey Carmen, your SLs look great. Hopefully the new banding technique will keep your locks from unraveling. I'm kind of nervous about my first wash, maybe I'll use this method. Are those rubber bands you banded with? Did they pull a lot of hair out when you removed them or did you just snip them off with scissors?

Yes those are little rubberbands. I took them off starting at the base/root so the last one off is the one at the end/tip of the hair. I think I lost two hairs in the process.

Yes, I went there ladies with the banding. As you see, I am not bashful if it means helping out another sister/brother.

N'drea, I haven't seen any signs of Ben. I took the traps up in the closet. I still have ones in the bathroom where Ciara had high sniffing and pawwing activity.

Hi Carmen, thanks for visiting my blog and commenting on my daughter's Sisterlocks. She is still glowing. Your pics are too cute! I love your locks. Good luck on your journey!

I would never have thought of taking the bands out from the base first..clever...

You know my policy on b&b. (I don't!) We'll see what comes of it in the long run.

I am so excited about watching your locks progress. Your hair is such a fun texture. Love your curls! I know I'll be sad when mine have gone away.

You are certainly the "ultimate bander"!! You should never have any unraveling with this method. I banded for about 6 months and then I gave up!! I pulled out more hair taking the bands off than just washing carefully.I hope this continues to work for you. One day you'll be free off the process.

I washed again using the banding technique and it works!!! It really is working. CELEBRATION.

Dreamangel75, thank you for saying my banding was CUTE. I've gotten plenty of responses from friends and haven't gotten cute.
