Lulu v/s iUniverse

Has anyone published through Lulu or iUniverse, maybe another service? If so, then please let me know how you feel about it.

My hire date is the 21st. I'm excited. Yippy.

Hi Carmen,

Lulu was established later than iunverse, however, it received an "A" rating from the BBB and is also located in North Carolina. The +'s are that you basically can be published locally and get your materials in sooner, etc.

iUniverse is located in Indiana...I have not used either of them, but they both provide as ISBN number that is important for Nielsen Scan Ratings.

Whenever someone purchases your books online or at a store that charts with Nielsen, your authorship is recognized virtually everywhere around the world.

Publishing this way, using services such as lulu allows you to write and publsih as many books as you desire, written however you desire. I haven't heard much or researched a great deal about being signed to a major literary label, but I'm assuming it is much like being signed to a major record label--some things that define you may at some point have to be compromised.

I wish you well in your endeavors!! I read your blog at least once a day to see what you are up to. You are ever inspiring!

Peace and Sound,
YASU

Thank you so much Yasu. The book is on the back burner. Actually, it's in the deep freezer waiting to be thawed out.
