Locmess Monster Continued

Everyone's seen the good - the front. Well, I wouldn't call this bad or the ugly. I loved my loose hair so it was good to feel, but it looks a hot tangled mess back there. I have a fear that it's going to look like matted dog fur if my sisterlocks don't hold.

At least one little fellow is doing well. Bless him's little heart.

Aaaaaw honey! How frustrating! Well, I guess your consultant has plenty of work to do when you see her on Friday. Not to worry, your hair will be just fine, just be patient with it. ;-)

I am sorry to read you had some slippage. As we all know, your consultant will resolve that problem.

I love the close-up pics. The camera is doing a great job!

I had major slippage in my almost 2 year journey..I didn't stop having slippage until almost my 1 year mark. I can certainly feel your pain...

Wow. I see what you are saying about unravelling and slippage. It seems to me that your consultant needed to give you smaller locks because of the texture of your hair. The fact that the locks that were made smaller stayed intact(such as the one at the nape of your neck in the photo)proves that. If I were you, I would request that the consultant divide the sections that unravelled and slipped and make them into significantly SMALLER LOCKS.

Also, when you wash your hair, don't forget to ALLOW YOUR HAIR TO DRY BEFORE you remove the braids and rubberbands.

Good luck and keep us updated.

Great camera to capture such close up. Just hang in there cause you've got some real mixture of genes going on.. :) In time it will get better.

Thank you for the tips Zaharah. I was doing it all wrong. Creyole, I've narrowed my ancestors down to Geechees and Sasquatch.

I feel your pain, I feel your pain, I feel your PAIN!! Ok, so I've no right to bitch about my hair ever again!!! It almost looks as if your hair is TOO loose to lock!! Of course, all this means is that it will take longer, not that it's impossible. I had forgotten about he knotty boy shampoo. I will have to heck it out again! Hang in there, girlie. We shall overcome...

Carmen, I'm having the same problem at the nape of my neck. My consultant had the hardest time putting those locks in, and wouldn't you know it -- they unraveled before I even got a chance to wash my hair a week later. Arrg! But, I have my follow up retightening this weekend, so I'm not stressing it. I'm in this for the long haul, so I know they'll stay and lock eventually.

It's been about a week and half since I had my locks installed. My consultant told me that I'd have major slippage due to the smooth cuticle of my hair. And she was right! Your pictures mirror my hair--- thank you for sharing AND giving me hope that this too shall pass. Also thanks for the tip about Knotty Boy shampoo. I just ordered a bottle.
