It Itches

Later on during the first day - that night, my scalp itched like crazy. Enough for me to pat it like folks with cornrows or other stationary styles. I hadn't experienced this type of itching since I swore I'd never do cornrows with added hair again. The itching was about to drive me mad. I woke up this morning and it was itching. Miss Ayana said no products and if "IF" I had to use my beloved oils to just apply them to my scalp. I tried to block the itching out and even said a quick prayer about it. That worked for about two hours. In the bathroom I'm sorta cleaning off the counter putting products I'll never use again in the product graveyard. (Which reminds me - I need to give away a bunch of products or either trash them. I've already started seeing how conditioner works as shaving cream - some say it works, maybe I need to try it out again. I know I'll be using it on Ciara. Her fur and skin does better with conditioner washes than with normal doggie shampoo.) I'm in the bathroom cleaning and keep moving my little amber eye dropper bottle with a bit of jojoba/grapeseed/rosemary oils mixture in it. I think I touched and moved it ten times before I caved in and started dropping a little on the itchy spots. At first I couldn't even feel the difference - it usually tingles a little. After about 45mins - 1 hours I realized my scalp had stopped itching. A few hours later - still no itchiness. Thank goodness.

I had exactly the same experience when I had my SL's put in. I hit my head so much! Lots of people suggested doing a rinse with Apple Cider Vinegar (1 part ACV to 3 or 4 parts water), it does soothe the scalp but the smell takes some geting used to. Now when my scalp itches I spritz with Tea Tree Oil and water.

This blogging and the yahoo group are so wonderful. I told somebody I was already making friends. Thank you for the advice Mel. I have tea tree oil too. I'll give that a shot if my scalp flares up again. Talking about smells - tea tree oils - wow.
