I Have Curls!

I am going to a party tonight. While I had a list of beauty tasks to conquer I decided to get my hair done. I went to the nearest salon. Everyone had relaxers and their hair looked good and healthy enough for me to stay. When I had relaxers, I went every week to keep my hair from breaking off. It never stayed put unless I had Shirley Temple curls or a style plastered down with gel. The lady thought I had kinky twists and that I wanted to get services for another person. I told her I do hair too and we would get through it. She didn't mind using the Sisterlock Starter shampoo. There was no braiding and banding and she scrubbed my hair like it was laundry. It felt incredible, but I still pondered how much slippage they would suffer.

She used a setting lotion and yellow rollers. She didn't use perm rods because we didn't know how long it would take. Instead she use the open rollers that have the matching open clasps.

The dryer was from the devil's beauty shop. I even tweeted about it being so damn hot. I lifted that joker up and she turned it down.

It was well worth it. I love the curls! I do have some splippage but it's in random areas throughout. The most is about an inch and no locks slipped completely out.

Nice curls. Maybe when I finish this DIY I'll have some energy to roll my hair. Who am I kidding? Not...

Pam, thank you so much!

Cashana, thank you so much. I'm trying to get my grown and sexy on like you. I know exactly what you mean. I am so blessed that I don't have any problems with my hands or fingers aching or cramping. I work so much with them. A frie, and bartered TT's for Lock Loops, she ordered twice as many than she needed. I have rollers a client gave me. The hooded dryer is downstairs. I could have done it myself, but boy oh boy, it's a lot of work. PLUS, I can't get my hair to set like the professional can.

Looks good, now that is novel idea going back to the salon and going through the pampering process without the chemicals....great aint it??

Nubian, thank you! Having my hair shampooed felt like a dream. I cannot remember the last time I experienced that.

Hi Carmen! Well aren't you looking beautiful in your curls! They came out great! I have a client who goes and gets her hair set at a local beauty college for $5 and I will probably go the same route once my hair is long enough for me too not look like a granny. :-)

Okay I'm late - but your curls look wonderful :o) I haven't worn my braids (fake locs) curled in a long time - I need to copy this.

Mali ~ thank you! I didn't think to go to a cosmo school ~ $5 ~ wow. I'm sorta upset for what I paid now, lol.

Laquita, you're right on time and thank you. If you try some curls, let me know!

New2locks, thanks a bunch!

Ro, thank you for stopping by. I need to check you out!

Wrinkle Free Diva, I appreciate it.

Queen Nat, thank you too!

Allecia, thanks and my hair lasted tell Sunday. My ends started curling up. I think I got them wet at some point. This is the first time since having locks that I've been afraid of getting them wet.

Carm girl, thanks for stopping by NPP101. I think about you off and on and darned if you weren't on my mind recently. Had to come by and check out your new digs. I like and your curls are beautiful. So cute and girlie. I've been experimenting with curls too now that I've got some really good length going on.

Stop again when you get the chance and I'll do the same.

Take care,
