Miss S

I didn't install Miss S's hair, but I am retightening it for her. She was my first paying client. She wasn't the first lady that I retightened. Miss R was the first lady I retightened and that was only a partial session.

Ok, when I met Miss S, her hair was a serious challenge for me. I didn't have a chair at the time and I also went to her house, so I wasn't even on my own turf. I was fresh out of the Sisterlock class. Well not so fresh, because I took the class in September and met her in December. Let's say all the practice I had was on my mannequin, a little on Miss R, and myself. As you can see she has thick hair and a lot of locks. I was terrified, nervous, my feet and back quit around the second hour, and I kept dropping my tools. It took me 10 hours to retighten her hair. Four months later, it took me five hours including combining a few of them.

Thank you Miss S for being so patient with me while I build up my speed. The next goal is four hours.

why did you combine a few? how many locks does she have? some folks just have a lot of hair and a lot of locks.

The locks I combined were super small. If her hair was thin then I would have left them super small. They were also the ones that had the most slippage. I would do 3 rotations on the super small ones and sometimes barely making a full rotation on the larger ones. I have no idea how many locks she has. Come to think of it I don't think any of my clients have counted their locks. I stopped counting mine after 200.

Thank you, Meikmeika!

Muslimah, I'm thinking she might have about 550-600.

You are doing a great job with her locks. I'm having lock envy even though I don't even have locks yet.

You go girl! I know on my first retighten client, I was like is it me or did she wait too long ;> It took me 6 hours and she was tender headed but we got through it and speed comes with practice. Now I retighten my lady in 3.5 hours. I did have one lady though that had SO much hair...it took me 9 HOURS. We both were too through, I was cool with her not calling me again. There was a consultant that could do it in 4 hours, if I was her, I would have been in her chair too.

See ya,
Sabriya
